Settings, Privacy, and Your License
Themes, crash reports and usage statistics, activating and deactivating devices, and what happens if your license cannot reach the internet.
Settings is the gear icon in the top right. It slides out from the right edge, and closes on the gear, a click outside, or Esc.
Theme
Five accent colors: Red (the default), Orange, Blue, Green, and Purple. Hover the row and pick a swatch.
Five themes. The TV display inherits whichever you pick.
It is not just decoration: the cast display inherits your theme, so this is what the whole room sees on the big screen all night.
Privacy: the two toggles
Both are off. They stay off until you turn them on. You are asked once, on first launch, and you can change your mind here at any time.
Send Crash Reports
When the app breaks, it sends the technical details of the break: the error message, where in the code it happened, and which tier you are on.

What is never sent, under either toggle
Your tournament data never leaves your computer. Not player names, not results, not buy-ins, not structure names, not your league, not your rules text, not your logo (Premium).
The distinction the app draws is between shape and labels. It may report that a structure had 14 levels starting at 25/50, because that is a shape. It never reports that you called it “Dave’s Bad Beat Special”, because that is a label you typed. Money is reported only as a bucket, like “$26 to $50”, never as an exact figure.
If both toggles are off, none of this happens at all.
Your license
The License row shows your status at a glance:

Activating
Activate License, then enter the key from your purchase email. It looks like
FTTT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
You need to be online for this one step. After that, the app verifies your license offline, on your own machine, every time it starts.
Deactivating a device
Deactivate This Device frees your license up for a different computer. You can reactivate any time with the same key.
Your tournaments and data are not affected. Deactivating removes the license, not your work. Everything is still there when you activate again.
If it will not activate
- “That license key wasn’t recognized, or the license is no longer active.” Check for typos. The key is not case-sensitive.
- “This license is already active on the maximum number of devices. Deactivate one first.” You have used up your seats. Deactivate the machine you are no longer using, either from that machine or from the license page on our website.
- “Could not reach the license server. Check your internet connection and try again.” Activation is the one step that needs the internet.
- “Too many attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again.” Exactly what it says.
What happens when your license cannot check in
The app checks in with the license server occasionally, and renews itself quietly in the background. If you are online even once every few weeks, you will never see any of what follows.
The app “calls home” every 30 days to keep your license up to date. If the app goes without being able to check in, it walks through three stages, in this order::
1. A quiet nudge. A small dot appears on the Settings gear, and the drawer says “Connect to the internet to keep your license active.” Everything still works. Nothing is blocked. There is no pop-up.
2. A louder nudge. A one-time, dismissible message on launch, telling you how many days you have left. Everything still works.
3. Paused. The paid features go to sleep and the app behaves like the Free tier. Settings says Paused · Reconnect To Restore.
Even then:
- Your data is completely safe. Every tournament, player, structure, chip set, and league is exactly where you left it.
- Nothing is deleted, ever.
- A running tournament is never interrupted. The app will not pause your license in the middle of an event in front of a room full of people.
- Connect to the internet once and everything comes straight back, untouched.
The nudges are always dismissible in one click, and they never appear on the cast display. Your players will never see a licensing message on the TV.
One thing to know if you are on Premium
If Premium pauses, a Count Mode tournament that has not started yet reverts to Player Mode, and any rake you had configured is cleared. Tournaments that are already running are left completely alone.
